TINEKE VAN DER EECKEN

Shapes that remind of prehistoric dream
Blossom amongst the rage of nature
Juxtaposed by ancient soil, savage twigs and objects
Lost by wanderers

I move around between places. My art helps me to define a sense of place at a given moment in time. It utilises the natural environment as a source of inspirations and materials. I try to tell the story of the place I consider home by weaving semi-precious and precious metals, wires and stones, pearls and found objects.

The forest floor in West Australia has been a major inspiration for my jewellery creations.

"I treasure the shapes of objects I found, natures creations, and by casting twigs and gumnuts in precious metals, I hope to give each object a new life, another eternity."
